General Description:

The Mechanical Design Engineer develops, designs, builds, tests, and inspects mechanical devices and systems, such as electrical switchgears and other critical power products and systems. Since mechanical engineering is a very broad field, they work in a variety of different industries designing a wide range of products.

Reports to:Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • You will work as a part of engineering team to ensure quality output.
  • Reporting to the lead Engineering Manager.
  • Create switchgear outline, elevation, floor plans, anchoring and assembly details.
  • Complete Mechanical design of Low Voltage sheet metal cabinets, fabrication and assembly drawings and bus design in PTC Creo.
  • Responsible for creating 3D models and 2D scaled drawings for the suppliers and CNC machines.
  • Create Mechanical BOM e.g., – Bus, supports, insulators, hardware, isolation barriers etc.
  • Estimate Bus Copper, insulators, hardware for inventory forecast on upcoming projects.
  • Create Assembly drawings/ Instructions files for the shop floor to build the assemblies.
  • Complete design reviews to check accuracy and completeness of designs.
  • Research and learn what new technology is available & applicable for projects.
  • Work with onsite markups and measurements to create the retrofitting design if needed.
  • Represent the company in all the design boards by the customer and interactions with suppliers.
  • Handle other business duties at the discretion of management.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Experience with mechanical design.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development
  • Experience with CAD tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Highly developed attention to detail

General Description:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have a specific set of skills and expertise to be responsible for interpreting project write-ups, customer specifications, electrical drawings, and correspondence. The successful candidate will be able to develop detailed designs and create Bills of Materials working with customers’ requirements.

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • You will work as a part of engineering team to ensure quality output.
  • Reporting to the lead Engineering Manager.
  • Interpret project write-ups, customer specifications, electrical drawings (one line diagram, schematics, layouts, etc.) and correspondence.
  • Develop detailed electrical designs for low & medium voltage switchgear & controls for systems that control multiple generators and parallel to one or more utility sources.
  • Down selection of electrical components and specified material and equipment.
  • Bill of material development.
  • Create AC and DC schematics, component layouts, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams for project submittals, fabrication and As-built's drawings.
  • Coordinate with supply chain dept to specify & approve component parts.
  • Design and implement power system control schemes including switchgear transfer control, load management control, generator control, microgrid control and SCADA system development.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, NFPA, NEC, and UL.
  • Provide Engineering/Technical support to manufacturing, test, and product support.
  • Complete design reviews to check accuracy and completeness of designs.
  • Research and learn what new technology is available & applicable for projects.
  • Work with onsite markups and measurements to create the retrofitting design if needed.
  • Represent the company in all the design boards by the customer and interactions with suppliers.
